Using a book from the attached Summer Reading List, using poster board, you will create a mind map following the criteria listed below. A sample mind map can be found on the back of this paper. The mind map may be hand-drawn or computer-generated.
Successfully completed Mind Maps will include:
The title and author of the book = 10 points
Written description of the main character(s) and a colorful illustration = 15 points
*Include physical (hair color, style of dress, etc) and character traits (honest, trustworthy, sneaky, etc.)
Written description of the setting and a colorful illustration = 15 points
*Include time (past, present, or future) and the location story took place
Written description of the problem of the story and a colorful illustration = 15 points
*Focus on the problems/issues the main character(s) dealt with in the book
Solution of the story and a colorful illustration = 15 points
*Describe how the problems/issues of the main character(s) were solved
Book review = 20 points
Include the following:
The best and worst parts of the novel
Would you recommend this book to a friend
Be sure to fully explain your answers
Personal Best Handwriting or Typed = 10 points
Appropriate Spelling and Grammar = 10 Points
Total Points = 110 Points
