7th Grade Parents,
The Health Department PREP Program will be providing the “Making A Difference! An Abstinence Approach to Prevention of STDs, HIV and Teen Pregnancy” curriculum to 7th grade students enrolled at Thoreau. This 8-module, evidence-based program provides students with the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to reduce their risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and teen pregnancy. The curriculum will be taught by trained educators from the Tulsa Health Department. Student participation is voluntary and confidential. This is a Tulsa Public Schools District initiative.
A parent preview night will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. for parents to learn about the Making a Difference! Curriculum. You will learn more about the curriculum content and get parent resources on adolescent health and development.
